ANNOUNCEMENT TIME! I promised a few details about a new comic project I’m involved with, well how about a proper truckload instead! :)
I’m very happy to unveil an exciting new comic project - Far From Faith, published by BRAMBLETYNE.
I’m the artist on Far From Faith but expect something a little different from me in terms of style! I’ve been working my butt off on this for a while now and I really can’t wait to see the comic on the shelves. We will be launching a Kickstarter very soon, so I will need as much support as possible from all you lovely folk in order to make this a huge success! The official website has opened today with all the details you need to know right now including Kickstarter sneaky peeks. You’ll be able to see some of my new artwork there on the website too. It’s a big pleasure to work on this so please check out Far From Faith and look out for more updates soon! \^__^/ Thank you! xx http://www.brambletyne.com
Ok it’s with MASSIVE excitement that I’m finally allowed to say this after a few months of sworn secrecy but what would you guys say If I said I’m the hired artist on a brand new comic book 3 part mini series? :D
We have more details and news coming this month amongst lots of awesome announcements, so stay excited. This will be my first proper adventure into the world of being a professional printed comic book artist and I am super EXCITED. So I hope you guys will all support me on this next step in my career! \^o^/
When you thought everything was going alright, we hit a snag.
For those of you who don’t know my boyfriend and I are trying to move in together, closing an 11 thousand kilometer gap. So far most of the expenses have been patched thanks to commissions and savings but today it came to my attention…
Two of my friends really need your help emergency style. Please help out!
So, while at Summer Of Sonic we sat down with Sonic Team’s Lead Artist himself, Kazuyuki Hoshino and had a nice little chat about all things NiGHTS related. We have the interview written up if you’re short on time, or you can listen to the audio i recorded on the day. It’s definitely worth your time as we find out some neat little bits of information regarding Elliot’s voice actor and how Wizeman came to be created. Believe me, chances are Hoshino-san was probably responsible for creating your favourite character from the game, he done a lot of work. (Oh, and of course, he was responsible for creating Metal Sonic and Amy Rose too, but that’s common knowledge. It’s the NiGHTS stuff that might go under the radar sometimes).
What’s more, Hoshino really seemed to enjoy our conversation a lot. It felt less like an interview and more like a really friendly chat half the time. There were plenty of moments where we just ended up joking with each other and laughing. You can also sense his passion for what he does. The way he spoke using hand movements while explaining Wizemans design to us really showed me the connection he has to his work. And that’s the stuff that builds inspiration. This guy formed the look and feel of the world in NiGHTS, he deserves unfathomable amounts of praise for that.
Oh, and then there was the moment when Sonic Team music composer Jun Senoue casually walked right in to our interview like “…yo!”, which TRiPPY turned in to an omake comic here:
Ah, you gotta love those guys. They certainly love their fanbase, that’s for sure! ^_^
